Hansen Triangle

October 16, 2007, the Hansen Triangle at the corner of West Grand Avenue and Second Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa was dedicated with the presentation of the beautifully landscaped green space, and Riverwalk promenade to the public.  Hansen Company, Inc. contributed the “park” to the Riverwalk project in celebration of our 25 years of business in the Des Moines area.

The area includes landscaped terraces with native limestone walls that invite the public to meander through the space to enjoy the plantings, relax, and play.  With the downtown area and particularly the Principal Riverwalk becoming such a livable and pedestrian friendly area, we expect the Hansen Triangle to get a lot of use.

Craig and Myra Hansen participated in the dedication and helped release hundreds of Monarch butterflies into the air.  Included in Hansen Triangle is a sculpture donated by Melba Bucksbaum called “Quantum Leaf” sculpted by Sally Pettis.  “Quantum Leaf” is a working fountain and reflecting pool which lends a sense of serenity to a busy downtown intersection.

Hansen Company, Inc. is pleased to be able to show our appreciation for 25 years of business by contributing back to the community that has been so good to us.  Thank you Greater Des Moines.
